It is no secret that the condition of our skin is one of the first signs of aging. As we grow older, our skin begins to lose collagen and skin cells deteriorate. This causes the skin on our faces to become loose, which in return causes sagging skin, wrinkles around the eyes, mouth and forehead. But there are ways to fight the aging process, with the use of anti-wrinkle/anti-aging facial masks and creams.
There are a ton of anti-aging facial products on the market, more so now than ever. But are they all good for your skin? Do they all actually work? The short answer to those questions is ‘no’, they don’t all work and not all of them are good for your skin.
That is why we have decided to test out some of the market’s most popular anti-aging facial peel off masks and put them to the test. We then created a top 5 list of the safest, most natural anti-aging facial peel off masks that you can purchase right now!
When looking to purchase an anti-aging mask or cream, you want to make sure that the product is using all natural ingredients. Products that feature chemical bases and ingredients can do damage to the skin over time.
Here are a few of the best all natural ingredients that you should look for.
Panax Ginseng Root Extract
Ginseng root extract has been shown to act as a skin moisturizer, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, reduce collagen degradation and reverse sunspots. It also protects your skin from solar UVB radiation.
Hydrocan is a mucopoly-saccharide derived from the shells of shrimp. It is a vital penetrating moisturizer and lubricant, increasing hydration deep within the layers of the skin. Hydrocan’s smooth softness and excellent moisturizing properties make it ideal for application in anti-aging, moisturizing, and anti-stress skin.
Boswellia Serrata (Indian Frankincense)
Boswellic acids inhibit two pro-inflammatory enzymes 5-lipoxygenase and elastase, thereby supporting skin texture and integrity. Inhibiting inflammation is known to be an effective approach to slow skin aging.
A unique delivery matrix that combines a redness inflammatory diminishing peptide with the antioxidant properties of tea and the calming properties of honey helps to alleviate the redness associated with rosacea or mild sun exposure.
Enzymatic exfoliation that gently eliminates dead skin cells to reveal a healthier complexion. An alternative to AHA’s.
High antioxidants composed of a botanical blend of extracts including Goji, Coffea Arabica (Coffee seed), Euterpe oleracea (Acai), Morinda citrifolia (Noni), Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) and Camellia Sinensis.
These natural ingredients help restore skin cell function, clean pores, tighten skin, reduce wrinkles and help with collagen production. Collagen is what keeps the skin tight and firm!
The Top 5 Anti-Aging Facial Peel Off Masks
#1. EverSilk – Panax Ginseng Root Extract Facial Peel-Off Mask
EverSilk™ took the number one spot on our top five list by a large margin and for good reason. It works – and – it works extremely well and as advertised!
EverSilk™ is jam packed with all natural, powerful ingredients. These ingredients work together to reduce puffiness in the face, wrinkles and tighten loose skin. In addition, the moisturizing properties of this special blend are fantastic! We found that our skin was instantly hydrated and remained hydrated long after we removed the facial mask.
We also found that the EverSilk™ facial mask provided a positive bonus that we didn’t expect! During our testing of the product, we found that the mask was removing blackheads from each one of our testers. Many of the other products we tested did not remove blackheads or clean dirty, congested pores. This was another reason as to why EverSilk™ landed in the number one spot!
The key ingredients that makes up the EverSilk™ facial mask are as follows:
- Panax Ginseng Root Extract
- Boswellia Serrata
- Blend of Superfruits
EverSilk™ claims that their product will tighten and firm skin within just the first week of use. We found this claim to be true. There was a noticeable difference in the firmness of the skin and the smoothing out of wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.
At the end of our testing, our skin was left feeling moisturized, tighter and cleaner when using EverSilk™.
Another factor we take into consideration when reviewing and testing products is price point. Are you paying the correct amount for what you are getting in return. EverSilk™ is priced at a mid-range price point at just $39.99 and if you purchased more than one at a time, there are bundling discounts that will lower that $39.99 price. We have tested facial masks that cost over $200 and facial masks that cost just $10. EverSilk™ appears to be worth every penny and is far better than the $10 and $200 facial masks that we have tested.
#2. Boscia Cactus Water Peel-Off Mask
The Boscia Cactus peel off mask made its way to the number two spot on our top five list. This gel based mask is a little different than the rest of the masks on our list, and while it may not be for everyone – we found that it did work quite well.
This product uses both vitamin C and sea algae extract to boost brightness, and reduces dullness in just a half hour’s time. However, while the mask works great for moisturizing and rejuvenating, it does lack some of the tightening, firming and wrinkle reducing properties that most facial masks have.
If you are looking for a short term, rejuvenating face mask, then this is a wonderful option. If you are looking to reduce wrinkles and restore and replenish skin cells – long term – then we would recommend EverSilk™ for that.
The Boscia facial mask appears to be one that would be used before a quick event, for instance, if you were going out to dinner with friends, date night or a job interview…this would be a great, quick option.
The all natural properties and moisturizing effectiveness is what caused us to place this unique product at number two on our list.
#3. Elizabeth Arden – Peel and Reveal Facial Mask
The Elizabeth Arden Peel and Reveal face mask is a great bang for your buck! This product performs well and covers a few important features that we look for in an anti-aging face mask.
The Peel and Reveal mask uses a blend of exfoliating glycolic and salicylic acids that help clear out pores, reduce dark spots, and fight fine lines and wrinkles.
The product features natural ingredients such as aloe vera extract and cabernet grape seed extract. The aloe vera is used to calm redness and reduce inflammation, while the grape seed extract offers antioxidant properties.
While our faces did feel cleaner after using the product, the product did not remove a lot of blackheads. Our faces felt firmer after each use, but compared to other products on our list – the firm feeling felt short lived.
Overall, this product is decent for the $36 price point, however – for that same price point, we would most certainly recommend EverSilk™.
#4. First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Purifying Mask with Red Clay
The First Aid Skin Rescue mask is a decent product and works as advertised. This is more of a long term skin care product.
The product is made up of natural red clay, licorice root extract and Vitamin-C.
The natural red clay works overtime to remove dirt and oils from the skin. While the licorice root extract and Vitamin-C work to protect and brighten the skin.
Like the product in our number three spot, this product will tighten and firm the skin, however it felt very short lived. After the mask was initially washed off, our skin was left feeling firm. Within an hour or so, that firm feeling slipped away.
We do like the ingredients used to construct this product, they are healthy and good for the skin. Over time, this product would most certainly reduce wrinkles and firm the skin – while keeping it clean.
Blackheads were not removed with this facial mask.
After just a few uses, our skin was left feeling moisturized and it was noticeably brighter looking.
#5. skyn ICELAND Arctic Hydration Rubberizing Mask with Vitamin C
The skyn Iceland facial mask is jam packed with Vitamin-C, which is known to enhance the skin tone and protect the skin from free radical damage.
There are a slew of natural ingredients that make up this face mask, ingredients such as: wintered red algae, arctic cloudberry seed oil, and sodium hyaluronate.
All of those ingredients work together in order to hydrate and moisturize the skin.
Once the liquid mask is applied, after about 20-minutes it turns into a rubber texture. This is designed to lock in moisture and it does appear to do just that.
Once we removed the mask, there was some feeling of firmness to the skin, but it most certainly felt more like a moisturizing facial mask than anything else.
The mask made our list due to the fact that it uses all natural ingredients that no doubt benefit the skin.
No blackheads were removed with this treatment.
While all of the anti-aging facial masks on our top 5 list offer moisturizing and hydrating advantages, not all of them offer what we call a ‘complete anti-aging’ package!
All of the products on our list are made up of natural ingredients and that is a major plus and why they are on our top five list.
However, if you are truly looking for a product that is going to hydrate the skin, firm and tighten the skin, clean pores and reduce wrinkles – then EverSilk™ is by far the best choice! It is a product that the employees of ConsumerGuide personally own and use on a weekly basis.
